Making an Appointment
Telephone 01273 480303 for all enquiries between 9am - 5.30pm
Please allow at least an hour for your visit and plenty of time on your parking ticket, should you be coming by car.
Our eye examinations typically take about 40 minutes. Occasionally we may advise further tests and the appointment make take a little longer. Alternatively it may be more appropriate to arrange an extra appointment time.
Frame selection and lens discussions may take from as little as 5 minutes, but often a lot longer. We encourage you to take as much time as you feel you need. We will never rush you, because you need time to explore the most appropriate lenses and frames for your particular lifestyle.
Our professional advice throughout your visit will help to guide your decisions and achieve an optimum result for you.
Many patients like to see the same practitioner as before, or would prefer to see the person that has been recommended to them. Please state if you have a preference.
We book consultations from 9 o/c Monday to Saturday. If you have a particular date in mind please call well in advance to secure your preferred appointment time.
Contact lens wearers will receive separate reminders for their contact lens consultations and their regular eye examinations. Should it be more convenient for you, please remind us when you are due for both, so that a double appointment can be made.
If you require an appointment on a day that is already fully booked please ask to be placed on our cancellation list together with a suitable daytime phone number. We will then contact you as soon as an appointment becomes available.
As a general guide we schedule our appointment reminders to you as follows:-
Eye Examinations (Sight Tests)
- Adults - every 2 years
- Children - every year
Contact Lens Wearer’s
- Soft lenses - every 6 months
- Soft Extended wear - every 3 months
- Rigid Gas Permeable - every 12 months

These scheduled reminders are only guidelines because some people may require more frequent appointments as do those with any contact lens complications or other medical conditions, such as glaucoma or diabetes
